KURT GIDLEY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Knights great Kurt Gidley has announced his retirement from rugby league, bringing an end to a glittering career that saw him captain Newcastle and New South Wales… and also play for Australia.
He’ll hang up his boots at the end of the Super League season.
“He’s had a great career. He’s one of those players who wasn’t super talented at a young age but he always worked pretty hard. It’s important for young players to understand you don’t have to be the most talented, but if you keeping working hard, keep chipping away, keep giving your all, that’ll be recognised. Particularly in Newcastle at our club.”
Kurt and his family will move back to Newcastle… the Knights haven’t ruled out offering him a role at the club.
