The Jets women have gone down to the Australian under 20 select side 3 – 2 at Speers Point this afternoon.
Today’s low key friendly was more a chance for Jets coach Craig Deans to run his eye over players pushing for a spot on his roster ahead of round one.
Physical at times, the Aussies – wearing green – dominated the bulk of possession, providing plenty of chances for the forward line, only to be denied by the keeper.
The Jets took advantage of some scrappy play before the break to even the ledger, but the Australian team were too strong in the end..
The Jets women play their first regular season match against Melbourne City in November.
