OPERATION SLOWDOWN WRAPS UP
A 27-year-old Cessnock man, allegedly clocked driving at more than 200-kilometres per hour on the Hunter Expressway, is among 6,000 drivers charged with speeding in New South Wales this long weekend.
Operation Slowdown wrapped up at midnight last night, and police say they’re not happy with the Hunter’s results.
Around 450 people were issued speeding fines, which is up 50 per cent on the same time last year.
20 people have also been charged with drink driving, while a further 400 infringement notices were handed out for various offences.
