FLOOD FUNDING FLOWS TO TAMWORTH

Much of that rain on the coast failed to have any impact on the Northern Inland, with showers petering out by mid morning on the Tablelands.

Meanwhile, Tamworth’s sporting fields which were damaged by floods in November will soon be brought back to life.

The state government has approved almost $470,000 in flood disaster relief funding, to restore nine football fields and three cricket pitches at the Plain Street sporting grounds.

The work, which includes repairing holes and replacing topsoil, will be completed in time for the summer sports season.
