RUSSELL DETERMINED TO CREATE HUNTER BASED SUPERCAR TEAM

His run at Bathurst was cut short by mechanical problems, so Newcastle’s Aaren Russell is determined to make a stronger showing in the Supercar event on the Gold Coast on October 21.
He won the ute race on the glitter strip last year.
“It’s a treacherous track, the kerbs, it’s rough on the car and the body but I’m looking forward to it I can’t wait to be hanging off the walls.”
The event will be his last for 2016, before his focus switches to creating the Hunter’s first full-time, top-level Supercar team.
“We want to be a team from NSW, with local support and also from the state. It’s all about finding people who want to be involved.”
