  • Vincent Stanford – the man convicted of murdering high school teacher Stephanie Scott has this morning been sentenced to life in prison. The judge described Stanford’s culpability as “so extreme” that it could “be met with only one response.”
  • Meanwhile two teenagers have been refused bail in a Sydney court – charged with terror related offences. Police allege the 16-year-olds were just moments away from carrying out an Islamic State inspired attack when they were arrested at Bankstown yesterday.
  • Two men have been charged with online grooming offences. A 51-year-old man was arrested at a home in New Lambton, near Newcastle on Tuesday, while a 59-year-old Caves Beach man was charged yesterday.
  • Overseas and Donald Trump has denied claims he inappropriately touched two women decades ago – labelling the report as “fiction.”
  • Tyler Wright has claimed her maiden world surfing tittle – secured the trophy by making the final of the Roxy Pro in France
  • And base jumpers have taken a leap of faith in Greece – jumping from a cliff to a beach below. The daredevils have just five seconds to open their parachutes to make sure they land safely.
