CYCLING AUSTRALIA HALL OF FAME FOR OENONE WOOD
Newcastle’s own two-time cycling World Cup winner Oenone Wood will be inducted into the Cycling Australia Hall of Fame at a special ceremony in Melbourne next month.
After starting her career at the age of 20, Wood was soon chosen for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
She went on to become a Commonwealth champion, and a five-time national champion by the age of 25.
The 36-year-old competed in a handful of cyclocross events at Adamstown in recent years, before moving to Spain.
