CAMERON LEADS NEWCASTLE AGAINST NSW IN BLIND CRICKET CLASH

Today’s Fernleigh 15 race also featured a Hunter athlete from another sport, Matthew Cameron, who represents Australia in blind cricket.

Once he’d grabbed a photo with Fearnley at the finish line, the 19-year-old headed over to Harker Oval to lead Newcastle’s first-ever team of blind cricketers in a clash with New South Wales.

Cameron will head to India with the Australian team early next year for the sport’s Twenty-20 World Cup.
