TOUGH NIGHT FOR MASTERS AS DOYLE THANKS FANS FOR SUPPORT

A tough night for North Lambton’s Sam Masters, at the final round of the Speedway grand prix series in Melbourne.

Entering the event as a wildcard in place of injured fellow Novocastrian, Jason Doyle, Masters finished with two points, thanks to a pair of thirds.

Australia’s Chris Holder won the event, while America’s Greg Hancock was crowned world champion.

Meantime, Doyle has sent a message to fans, thanking them for their support during his recovery.

The 31-year-old was leading the series before crashing in Poland, and is determined to be back in title contention next year.
