FREE PARKING PLUMMETS FROM AIRPORT

Those taking flight from Tamworth today were the first to pay for parking at the airport.

While vehicles can park free for the first two hours, those wanting to leave their cars for longer will now be charged $2 an hour.

Longer term fees have been set at $10 a day, or $35 a week.

All revenue will be funnelled into the Airport Reserve, with hopes the money will be used to improve the precinct.

“Fees will contribute towards the maintenance of the airport as it is now, and also for future upgrades,” said Julie Stewart from Tamworth Regional Airport.
