STATE SEMI FINALS BECKONS ARMIDALE SCHOOL

Armidale’s Ben Venue has progressed to the New South Wales Primary School Sports Association’s cricket semi finals, with a 13-run win on home soil today.

Playing north coast champions South West Rocks, the hosts batted first, and cruised to five 166 off just 25 overs.

Ben Heagney and Nick Jackson top scoring, with 41 each.

The visitors unable to reel in the total, reaching six 153 in response.

Maurice Kelly claiming two wickets for just nine runs to be the pick of the bowlers.
