The mid north coast’s long-awaited community legal centre has been officially opened by Federal Attorney General, Robert McClelland.
The centre, at Port Macquarie, provides free legal advice, advocacy and education for people living in Greater Taree, Kempsey and the Hastings.
It employs two solicitors and runs a telephone advice line and outreach services to Taree and Kempsey.
A long-running community campaign helped lead to the establishment of the centre.
