A man is due to face court next month, charged over two armed hold-ups in the Hunter.
Justin Latham is accused of robbing the United petrol station at Maitland in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police allege the 35-year-old then targeted a service station at Wallsend last night, threatening a worker with a knife before escaping with cash.
Latham did not apply for bail during a brief hearing in Newcastle Local Court today.
