Newcastle’s Merewether Beach has just been named as one of the best in the country.
The home of Surfest was named 13th in the top 20 best Australian beaches, following a national survey.
Bennetts Beach at Hawks Nest also made the cut, praised for its relaxed village feel – it came in at number 15.
