GOLD COAST ROBBER COMES AWAY EMPTY HANDED
A man armed with a knife attempted to steal cash from a woman on the Gold Coast.
According to police, just before 4:30pm on Friday, a woman was taking a money bag to the bank when she was approached by a man on Classic Way in Burleigh Waters.
He demanded the bag from the 28-year-old before producing a knife.
During the attempted robbery, the bag containing the money was ripped open, with the contents spilling onto the footpath.
The man then jumped into the passenger side of an older model black Toyota RAV 4, which was last seen travelling along the wrong side of the road on Christine Avenue.
The woman did not sustain any injuries.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance with a fair complexion, approximately 175cm tall, with short light brown hair and a heavy build.
He was wearing a white T-shirt, light yellow cargo shorts, light coloured baseball cap, aviator style sunglasses and pressure bandages on both arms.
