ARMIDALE QUIETLY CONFIDENT OF UPSET

Tamworth guns for its 12th War Veterans Cup cricket title in 13 years tomorrow, hosting Armidale.

The visitors are quietly confident though, after defeating last year’s runners up in the semi final.

While the defending champions will field an understrength side, with six changes from the team that played four weeks ago.

Organisers are hopeful the fixture remains at Number One Oval, with recent rain forcing the cancellation of today’s club games to preserve the wicket.

If it’s ruled unplayable, the decider will be shifted to Dick Edwards Oval.
