FIREARMS STOLEN FROM TAREE DEFENCE FACILITY

Police are appealing for public help after several firearms were stolen from an Australian Defence Force facility in Taree.
Six .22 calibre rifles and laptop computers were taken from the Muldoon Street building last week.
“It’s a defence facility so the Department of Defence and police will be investigating together. At this stage we’ve sent our crime team out there to do a thorough finger print and DNA examination,” Chief Inspector Christine George from Manning-Great Lakes Police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
