Five men have been charged over an alleged torture involving 16 people at a mechanic workshop on the Gold Coast.
It’s alleged a 26-year-old Loganholme man was held against his will at the Southport business on Thursday last week, before jumping through a window and calling police from a nearby unit.
He told officers he was taken by 16 men, tied to a chair, had paint thinner poured on him and had his groin cut during the ordeal.
A man faced court over the alleged incident last week and another four men were charged over it on Wednesday, including two who appeared in court.
Jaymin Higham, 30, and Giovanni Vladik, 24, faced court on charges of torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and armed robbery.
Higham was refused bail in the Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday, while Vladik was remanded in custody after his appearance in Brisbane.
A third man, Alexander Pasquill, who appeared in court last week, was granted bail.
Pasquill had coached and encouraged the assault to take place, the court heard.
The other two men charged over the incident are due to face court on Thursday.
Police say the five accused are all known to each other.
