JETS WOMEN WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE OF TOP FOUR

The Jets women have scored a dramatic win over Brisbane, to keep their W-League semi-finals hopes alive.

Newcastle was in front inside 10 minutes.

Brisbane earned a penalty just before the break, which was converted by Tameka Butt.

The second half was full of drama, with Roar keeper MacKenzie Arnold sent off.

Georgina Worth made a statement on debut, saving Arin Gilliland’s shot.

The game looked like ending in a draw, until Rhali Dobson sparked a winner.

Brisbane blew a late chance, as Newcastle moved within two points of the top four.
