GREAT WHITE SPOTTED IN BALLINA

Ballina’s beaches will remain closed until Sunday, after a shark was spotted by surf-lifesavers at Lighthouse Beach earlier today.
It comes after a charter pilot spotted a great white in the mouth of the Ballina River two days ago.
Initially, the department of primary industries believed it to be a bull shark – but after the pilot described its shape experts confirmed it was a great white.
At 3 to 4 metres long, it fits the description of the predator that killed Tadashi Nakahara at Shelly Beach on Monday.
