It’s beyond me why people want to go and see these majestic creatures reduced to performing tricks.
There are fantastic circuses out there that just use humans. Much more enjoyable.
If animals weren’t forced into performing tricks for our human entertainment then why is it that so many countries are now banning these circuses? They know that animals are taught or conditioned to perform through fear of punishment or pain. Animals are not here for our entertainment to be abused. They might look like they are loved but do research into how animals are trained for such entertainment. Animals should be left alone to perform natural behaviours in their natural environment.
Stardust may wel treat their animals well. These animals can’t be released because they are born and bred in captivity. We, as animal rights activists are not calling for these animals to be taken away from the only family they know. The circus is all they know. We want the circus to stop breeding exotic animals to perform stupid tricks for humans. That is what is cruel about it and does not belong in a civilised society! These animals’ birthright is to be free and live their lives naturally.
Wild animals don’t belong in a circus. Alter the act to include talented humans. Never will support the abuse of animals for entertainment.
By being financially viable it demonstrates that there are people out there who DO want to see these circuses with animals. If these activists dont like it then do not go and support the circuses. BUT do not ruin good entertainment for people that do want to go. These animals are well looked after because the circus depends on their health and well being to survive. Get a life and stop trying to control everything that you personally do not approve of. I am sick to death of activists complaining about everything. GO THE CIRCUS.
Its interesting to note that the Newcastle Council has had a ban on these types of circus for a long time in Newcastle. However, perhaps people would be interested in the said ‘loophole’. The Hunter Stadium is owned by the NSW Government and it is crown/public land. It is managed by Venue NSW, their Minister is Stuart Ayers. Really, is this classified as ‘private land’? This is purely another example of our government not governing for the wants for the people of the community and upholding their decisions and opinions.
Coming from generations of captive bred stock, why is there more interest in the welfare of these obviously well cared for lions, than all the cats and dogs and especially birds that are confined in private homes with no exercise and nothing to do ?
