JOCKEY BLAKE SPRIGGS INVOLVED IN HEAVY RACE FALL

Newcastle jockey Blake Spriggs has been taken to hospital, following a heavy race fall at Hawkesbury this afternoon.
Riding five-year-old mare Minute Silence in the first, Spriggs was approaching the home turn when he fell.
“Oh there’s a fall, the rider’s been tipped off Minute Silence and Princess Aria races to the lead.”
The 25-year-old is said to be in good spirits, despite suffering a knee injury, as well as a nasty cut to his head that required stitches.
