COUNCIL OPENS THE CHAPTER ON NEW LIBRARY
In a shock move, Central Coast Council has confirmed a regional library planned for Gosford will now be built in Donnison street, opposite the current library.
It comes after council deemed the old Cadillac Club site as inappropriate for the eight storey facility.
“we are looking amending the planning controls to make Kibble Park really the focus of the CBD here so the decision we’ve made to put the park on the parkside building site is really the council putting it’s money where it’s mouth is.”
A building currently on the site is being used by Regional Youth Services- but council has confirmed it will work with the organisation to find a solution.
It’s hoped the new library will form the cornerstone of plans to transform Gosford’s CBD.
