A resolution is on the horizon for the Moree to Sydney flight deregulation debacle, with Mayor Katrina Humphries now in talks with transport minister Andrew Constance.
“Now he’s fully informed on the actual facts and the reason why we are so adamant that we don’t want deregulation and I’m really confident that we’re going to have a good outcome with this and everyone’s going to be happy.”
Residents were up in arms when the state government asked council to gauge whether locals would welcome a deregulated route.
They’re concerned it could mean the region will lose a regular air service altogether.
