ADAMSTOWN ROSEBUD WIN INAUGURAL HERITAGE CUP IN PENALTY SHOOTOUT

The inaugural running of the Northern New South Wales Heritage Cup has seen Adamstown beat Edgeworth in a penalty shootout.

Following a scoreless first half, Rosebud broke the deadlock as Charlie Horsely hit the post, and Justin Tannock slotted home the rebound.

The Eagles hit back thanks to a sweet strike by Bren Hammel.

The decider eventually went to penalties, where goalscorers Hammel and Tannock once again found the net.

Eventually it was former Mariner Daniel McBreen who needed to score to keep the shootout alive.

The save by keeper Paul Bitz handed the trophy to Adamstown.
