Fire commissioner, Greg Mullins, has recognised three staff from Lismore’s private hospital for their bravery.
The actions of Monique Rhodes, John McAlister and Shirley Brown helped save lives when a fire broke out last year in the boiler room at St Vincents.
Mr McAlister, a maintenance worker, was instrumental in turning off a gas main to stop the fire from spreading, despite being badly burned.
