But some say the project- which includes a new library- has lacked community consultation.

Go to 1m41sec and listen to the summary which is “Council say that once contracts are signed with the developer – the next phase of the project will be community consultation” What a joke! Community consultation should have occurred along the way and before the contracts are signed. Because once they’re signed the community is locked in and consultation is meaningless. Another MidCoast Council con job. Paul Van Drunen
make that 1m 29sec…. lol
It is unusual, but refreshing when it happens, to see local media actually calling into question the way in which the staff of a council act in relation to the community whose rates pay them their inflated remuneration. Thought bubbles of senior staff predominate, then council administration ignore, denigrate. Or dismiss anyone who asks embarrassing questions
The report justifying the development that the chosen developer is presenting to Midcoast Council to push the project through is an absolute joke, with vast amounts of inaccuracies and falsehoods.
Agree. I remember at a public meeting saying to council when he first said council would go for a public private partnership that it would only work if council put more money in. Which they have and will continue to do to all intents and purposes. Hubris
