TWO CHARGED AFTER CAR STOPPED NEAR PORT MACQUARIE

Two 21-year-old men have been charged with a string of offences, after police stopped a car near Port Macquarie.
Police allege one of the men tried to restart the car as he was being arrested on the Oxley Highway late yesterday.
He was hit by a car as he tried to run away, suffering a foot injury..
Officers then searched the vehicle, allegedly finding drug supply equipment and 14-grams of methylamphetamine, with an estimated street value of more than $8,000.
The passenger is facing four charges including assaulting an officer, while the driver’s facing six charges including supplying and posessing a prohibited drug.
