STAMFORD PUTS HIS PAWS UP FOR RETIREMENT

Newcastle’s best-known guide dog was the centre of attention today, to mark his retirement.

Stamford, the golden lab, has shared the spotlight with his musician owner, Matt McLaren, for 10 years.

His retirement party at a Carrington hotel, which doubled as a fundraiser for Guide Dogs New South Wales, was open invitation – and the cake certainly got the seal of approval.

With his harness now off, Stamford was also free to receive plenty of well-earned pats.
