MAN ON THE RUN AFTER HOLDING UP CONVENIENCE STORE WITH A MACHETE

Police are on the lookout for a man who held up a convenience store with a machete on the Central Coast.

Just before 7pm last Saturday, a man entered the store at Berkeley Vale, demanding cash and allegedly assaulted an attendant.

The intruder fled on foot and was last seen heading across Lakedge Avenue.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, between 20 to 30 years of age, with a slim build, and between 190 and 200cms tall, and was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark long pants, red Nike joggers and had his face covered.

The employee received treatment for an injury to his hand.
