The latest from the flooding in Northern New South Wales and southern Queensland.
This is an aerial shot of Lismore where the town’s flood levee has been overtopped for the first time since it was built 12 years ago. Many residents along the Wilsons River have evacuated.
These pictures show a torrent of muddy water flowing through Lismore’s CBD.
Tonight at six we’ll have the latest on the flood levels.
It was a scary night for residents in Murwillumbah as the flood waters rose quickly around homes. Many people were forced to leave for higher ground.
The people in this house at Chinderah on the Tweed River invited our camera in for a look at the water sloshing around on their floors.
North of the border and drone shots show the extent of the flooding at Beenleigh on the Logan River.
And a man was rescued from his stranded ute at Jimboomba by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew this morning.
