Some positive news for a Wallsend family, living in a social housing property overrun with cockroaches.
After 12 months of pleading for help, Barbara Randall was finally given an appointment with the department following a report on NBN News last night.
Pest inspectors will assess the house tomorrow.
The department has offered to relocate the single mother and her two children, but Ms Randall says she just wants the roaches removed.
