The Tamworth RSL sub-branch now has the Deputy Prime Minister in its ranks with Barnaby Joyce today being sworn in as an official member.
A ceremony was held today at the New England electorate office – Mr Joyce looking the part wearing his father’s and grand fathers’ war medals.
The Deputy PM read the Pledge of Allegiance, before receiving his RSL badge.
“We’re very proud and overjoyed with the fact that we’ve got the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia as a member of our sub branch.”
Tamworth state MP, Kevin Anderson is also a member of the Tamworth RSL.
