QUACKING GOOD TIME AT EASTER DUCK RACE

Forget about Easter egg hunts, in Port Macquarie there was a race of a different kind.

More than 1,200 yellow ducks made a splash down Kooloonbung Creek, in the annual Charity Duck Race.

Duck number 243 took out the business house race in just under 10 minutes.

Large crowds turned out for the family fun afternoon, organised by the Port Macquarie Lions Club.

“We’ve been expanding in the race every year, so more people are involved, more people know about it and there’s not much else on in Port,” President Colin Hardwick said.

They’re hoping to raise $20,000 for local charities.
