SEARCH RESUMES FOR MISSING TEEN AT PEBBLY BEACH

A full scale search has resumed this morning for a teenager missing in the surf on the mid north coast.

Just before 4pm yesterday, the 17-year-old boy went swimming at Pebbly Beach with family members in the Yuraygir National Park, about 55km north of Coffs Harbour.

Police say the group got into trouble in the dangerous conditions.

Most of them made it back to the beach, but the 17-year-old hasn’t been seen since.

One of the group members that made it back to the beach required medical attention, before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A search was conducted last night, but it was suspended due to low light conditions at 6pm.

Today Marine Area Command, police divers, PolAir, Surf Live Savers and the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter are looking for the teenager, who was in the area on a family holiday.
