SLICE OF HAVEN TO ‘ROCK YOUR TASTE BUDS’

Laurieton’s annual gourmet food and wine festival, Slice of Haven, has taken a rebellious turn this year.

Organisers are encouraging stallholders to create flavours that will “rock your taste buds”.

Port Macquarie’s XS Foods is serving up grilled cheese and crickets as one of its signature dishes.

“The ‘Bugs in Your Grill’ mightn’t be to your taste, but it’s certainly something new, quirky, interesting, to try,” Slice of Haven’s Kate Dwyer said.

The festival will be held in conjunction with the Laurieton Riverwalk Markets on May 21.
