STEAD CROWNED FOUR-CYLINDER CHAMP

Cross-border rivalry dominated the New South Wales Four Cylinder Sedan Championship at Lismore Speedway overnight with eventual runner-up, Queensland’s Justin Wier setting the pace early.
Daniel Smith crashed heavily, while a blown tyre cost race favourite Trent Dhu his chance.
Fellow Queenslander Ben Stead loomed up behind, then overtook Weir late in the race.
Despite some crafty driving, Lismore’s Brodie King finished third.
