CHARGES LAID OVER NELSON BAY GLASSING ATTACK
A man will front a Newcastle court today, following a glassing incident in Port Stephens, over the weekend.
Around 9pm on Saturday, a man was struck on the left side of his face with a schooner glass, during an alleged fight with another man at a licensed premises in Nelson Bay.
The victim, aged 30, suffered a severe laceration to his right ear. He remains in John Hunter Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery.
A 28-year-old man spoke with detectives at Raymond Terrace Police Station, and was yesterday charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail.
