Prostate cancer patients Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour will continue to have access to a full-time specialist nurse.
Federal Government funding has been secured to keep the service running for at least another two years.
“They’re the glue between the radiation, or the urolologist, the general practitioner or hospital, and all the care that you need when you’re out of hospital,” Federal Assistant Health Minister David Gillespie said.
The Mid North Coast is one of 15 locations nationally, to have its own prostate nurse.
