Pre-race outsider ‘Timeless Prince’ has taken out this year’s Tamworth Cup.
It’s the Gosford-trained gelding’s first win since January, last year.
The seven-year-old edged out ‘Mapmaker’ in a photo finish.
“Mapmaker. Timeless Prince and Mapmaker. I think it’s a local victory. Mapmaker I think may have got there from Timeless Prince. Nothing in it.”
Numbers four, 18 and 17 were needed, with the quinella worth $80.
The trifecta paid over $4,000.
