23-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER KARIONG SERVICE STATION HOLD-UP

A man has been charged over the alleged robbery of a Central Coast service station.

Police say shortly after 7pm last night, the man attended a service station on Mitchell Road in Kariong armed with a knife, and demanded cash and tobacco.

Staff complied, and the robber then fled the scene.

Subsequent investigations led police to an address on Mitchell Drive in Kariong around 12:30am today, where they arrested a 23-year-old man.

He was later charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon, and breach of bail.
