A 15-year-old boy who was accidentally released from the Southport Watchhouse yesterday is back in police custody.
The boy self-presented to the watchhouse with his lawyer around 11.45am today.
Police are reviewing how he came to be released.
The teenager had previously been charged over an attempted carjacking, that left a girl seriously injured.
Police say the teen was sharing a cell at the Southport Watchhouse with another boy who was due for release, and when officers called out his name, the 15-year-old stepped forward and was accidentally allowed to leave.
