BUTCHER BOYS AND GIRLS TO BE PRETTY IN PINK ON MOTHER’S DAY
Central Newcastle will be pretty in pink at St John Oval this Sunday, with all four of the club’s teams to wear special jerseys against Cessnock, to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.
The strip will then be sold by silent auction, or at the club after first grade.
“At the very least we just want to see as much pink as we can at St John Oval and at the leagues club after the game. If we can achieve that we’ve won. Any dollars we can raise for the McGrath Foundation a big bonus on top of that.”
For some, it’s a cause close to home.
“My Grandma just recently had it but it was only tiny when she found so it was really good to get over it.”
The first grade side is looking to maintain its unbeaten start under new coach Craig Miller.
“With Barney coming back there is a sense of expectation but we’ve had a big pre season and set some high goals so as long as we keep working hard we’ll be able to hit those expectations.”
