WOMAN CHARGED FOLLOWING HAMILTON SOUTH DOMESTIC INCIDENT
A woman has been charged over a domestic incident that left a man with serious burns.
Shortly before 9am yesterday, a man and a woman, both aged 28, allegedly became involved in an altercation at a home on Triumph Way in Hamilton South.
During the argument, the woman allegedly swung a jerry can at the man, spilling fuel on him before sparking a lighter that set both her and the man alight.
The man ran to a neighbouring home and sought assistance.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital by paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The woman was arrested and taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
Upon being discharged, the woman was charged with burn/maim by using corrosive fluid.
She will appear in Newcastle local court later this month.
