YAMBA BUSINESS BOUYED BY NEW CONTRACT

A north coast company has been awarded a $5m government contract.
Yamba Welding has been given the task of building eight vessels, intended to be used to carry out border control operations around Australia.
Member for Page, Kevin Hogan says government tenders like the one won by the local business help to give the region’s economy a boost.
Four of the boats will be 12-metres long and the remaining four, five-metres, to be used in remote coastal regions.
They’re expected to take two years to construct.
