Former State Gosford MP Kathy Smith has passed away after battling a recurrence of cancer for more than a year.
Ms Smith passed away surrounded by loved ones yesterday morning.
Ms Smith was elected to the seat of Gosford in 2015 but stepped down in February after being advised she would require further treatment, after her initial diagnosis in 1996.
The much loved local will be remembered for her fight for the provision of a public radiotherapy treatment centre in Gosford.
