WOMAN FIGHTS OFF ATTACKER IN ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT NARARA
Police believe an attempted abduction of a young woman on the weekend may be related to the sexual assault of a child on the Central Coast last month.
Police say an 18-year-old woman got off a train at Narara Railway Station around 4.30pm yesterday, and was walking along a laneway just off Narara Valley Drive, when she was grabbed around the neck from behind by an unknown man.
The woman kicked back at the man, breaking free from his grip, and ran away.
The man was seen walking away toward Narara Valley Drive.
Police are now appealing for assistance in identifying a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being in his mid-20s, about 175cm tall, with a chubby build, ginger/blond hair, and blue eyes.
At the time, he was wearing a grey hooded jumper, long camouflage pants, and heavy black boots. He also had a loose covering over his face that exposed his eyes and nose.
Based on the information at hand, investigators believe the incident is linked to the assault last month, where a 12-year-old was sexually and indecently assault on May 15.
