The Rotary Club of Tamworth West is doing its bit to ensure the city’s residents have easy access to a defibrillator if needed.
Through its ‘Mission Heart Start’ program, 16 have been provided to local organisations and sporting clubs.
Today, the Tamworth Kangaroos AFL Club were on the receiving end.
“Hit the green button to turn it on, pull the tab at the bottom and put the pads on, and it’ll basically talk you through it.”
West Tamworth Bowling Club has had one for the last six months.
While it’s yet to be used, it’s a comfort knowing it’s there.
“We’ve had heart attacks here in the club over the years of course. We’re just, not looking for the next one, but if it does happen, we’ll always have that on hand.”
