PACIFIC HIGHWAY UPGRADE TAKING SHAPE

After almost two years, construction of the new Hastings River bridge is complete.
It’s part of the 23-kilometre Pacific Highway upgrade between the Oxley Highway and Kundabung.
Although wet weather has caused some delays, the RMS says the project is still “generally” on track to open by Christmas.
“We have a lot of challenges with the nature of our business that what we are, and what we try to do is recover from those, where we get particular delays on projects,” RMS Pacific Highway Manager Bob Higgins said.
Upcoming work includes paving of the southbound carriageway, between the Oxley Highway interchange and Fernbank Creek.
