Tamworth’s Under 13s girls division four hockey sides have been crowned joint state champions on home soil today.
Neither team had been beaten throughout the three days, and couldn’t be split after two lots of extra time.
The final score, nil-all.
Special praise reserved for the side affectionately referred to as the ‘Minions’, with all but one aged 11 or under.
The hosts also finished tied fifth in division one, while New England bowed out in the semi final of division two after a draw with a higher-ranked side.
